Kent Fuller is a legend of Bonneville Salt Flat drag racing. Since 1955, he has built over 300 chassis and pioneered innovations like the three point roll cage, a design that saved many lives on the flats. Now he’s building one last car, and needs your help.

Fuller’s family have been working to make this car happen for the last 10 years, but still need some help to make it happen. So they’ve started a Kickstarter to make what they’re calling ‘The World’s First Crowd-Funded Race Car’.

Not the greatest looking car by far but the principle behind it is great, with 3D printing pushing its way further into other areas of manufacturing.

However this article focuses on the potential 3D printing has for mass production of cars, which is completely opposite of my projects direction, still interesting insight though, food for thought…
